Historic Garden Week Activities:
Sunday, April 27, 2025 - Spring Flower Hike
From 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. The hike is in collaboration with the Virginia Maser Naturalists Historic Southside Chapter. Meet your guide at the Jones-Stewart Mansion parking lot. No additional fees.
Saturday, May 3, 2025 - Chippokes Garden Tea
From 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Chippokes Conference Shelter. Sponsored by the Friends of Chippokes. Visitors can enjoy a variety of teas and treats on this lovely property. The English garden, established by Albert Carroll Jones in 1854 and brought back to life by Evelyn Stewart after 1918, is just steps away. No additional fees.
Guided Mansion tours are available Friday through Sunday from 12:30 to 3:30 PM.

Historic Garden Tours
In celebration of Historic Garden Week, come visit the oldest English Formal Garden in North America. Sessions for the special garden tours are on Friday, April 25th, Saturday, April 26th, and Sunday, April 27th at 2:00 PM daily. During the tour, an interpreter will acquaint you with the history of the garden and its plantings. Admission for the garden tour only is $5.00. The garden tour is free with the purchase of a house tour ticket and for Preservation Virginia Members.
