[ARCHIVED] Archeology Days at Smith's Fort

Join Preservation Virginia staff for our first ever Archaeology Days at Smith’s Fort!


SF-Archaeology-Open-House-2From 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM on June 13th, 14th, 20th, and 21st, the James River Institute for Archaeology will be excavating two historic features at Smith’s Fort. This special event is included with the price of admission and is FREE for Preservation Virginia members! Join us as we explore and watch history in action. Regular house tours will be available on the hour, and light refreshments will be available for purchase.

Tickets are available for purchase on-site only – no advanced registration is required. Preservation Virginia members and children under 12 are free. 

Archaeology and ground only are available with a Grounds Pass for $5.00nly

$15.00 – General Admission (with House Tour). Discounts available for seniors, students, military, AAA, and Combo Ticket with Bacon's Castle.

Smith's Fort is located at 217 Smith's Fort Lane, Surry, VA 23883.
