This exciting two-day premier event includes intertribal dancing, native drumming, food and craft vendors, storytelling, educational exhibits, and services for the community and guests; Saturday, September 16, 2023 and Sunday, September 17, 2023.
Host Drum, Yapatoko, will accompany the dynamic dancers lead by Mike Harmon, Lead Male Dancer, and Adrienne Harmon, Lead Female Dancer. Rick Kelly returns as the Master of Ceremonies. Gates open at 10:00 AM both days with Grand Entry at 12:00 PM on Saturday and 1:00 PM on Sunday.
This event is great fun for all ages and has a "family reunion" type of atmosphere where all may feel welcome and at home. The 2023 Powwow kicks off Surry County's celebration of heritage and culture associated with the VA250 Commemoration.
