Join the staff at Chippokes State Park for a walking tour along historic Quarter Lane from the River House to the Jones-Stewart Mansion.
As our country observes and celebrates Black History Month, Chippokes invites guests to explore and discover the impact that persons of African descent have had on the property as well as their contributions to the history of Chippokes. Staff will share important narratives of the men, women, and children who have lived and worked on this land. This event is offered on Saturdays, February 3rd and February 17th from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM on both dates. Staff will meet guests at the parking area across from the Farm & Forestry Museum.
There is a $7.00 per vehicle parking fee charged, but no additional fee for this special programming.
Chippokes State Park is located at 695 Chippokes Park Road, Surry, VA 23883, (757) 294-3625
